Dancing Spirit Herbs Providing herbs to assist in your quest for harmony of body, mind, spirit, and planet.
I'm Michael Longfield, clinical herbalist, permaculturist, householder and entrepreneur. I started Dancing Spirit Herbs after years of studying herbs, and soon after deciding to make the step towards becoming a professional herbalist and beginning herb school. I was living simply in a small, solar powered cottage, surrounded by the Shawnee National forest, with my partner and her son. I wanted to provide my family with high quality herbal extracts to support our immune systems, to promote optimum health and to address some deep seated family health problems. My partner's son had chronic lung issues ever since a dangerous case of whooping cough. Every winter he would get sick and cough for months. His lungs have completely recovered after continued use of a personalized combination of DSH extracts.
Since beginning Dancing Spirit Herbs I have tested many extracts, determined to offer a line of top quality, clean, and reliable herbs. Over the years, I have become frustrated by sketchy manufacturers and inconsistent quality. Our line is the fruit of my years of testing, and I continue to seek more potent and effective adaptogenic and meditative herbal remedies. As a practicing herbalist, I can attest to the effectiveness and quality of our herbal line. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, or would like to schedule a personal herbal consultation.
In September of 2014, we moved onto a larger acreage property to start a permaculture farm and learning center. Here, we apply, innovate upon, and teach regenerative agricultural techniques and perennial based nutrition. As our farm matures, we plan to offer new herbal and food products that are grown sustainably on our farm. So far, we have planted jujube dates (Da Zao), Chinese yam (Shan Yao), chestnuts, hazelnuts, shiitake mushrooms, and a long list of perennial trees and shrubs. We will continue to expand our herbal plantings to include codonopsis, gynostemma, schizandra, mulberry, and any other tonic herb that is suitable to grow in our climate.
As of June, 2016 our new farm, and Dancing Spirit Herbs headquarters, is now solar powered. Thank you for being a part of our journey, and please stay connected as we grow to new heights.
